William “Bill” Graham Sr. of Newburyport, MA passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 7, 1937 in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Earl and Ethel (Murphy) Graham and graduated from Newburyport High School in 1955.
After graduating high school, he went on to join the United States Air Force where he would travel the country with his new wife for 6 years before returning to Newburyport in the early 1960’s. He earned his degree in mechanical engineering from New Bedford Institute of Technology in 1967. He and his wife settled down in their home on Hope Ave where they would raise their two children, William II and Jonathan.
When he wasn’t cracking jokes with his family, spending winters in Florida playing golf, or chartering his boats, “My Mistress” and “My Mistress Too”, he would be working with his wife building a successful 46-year career as the founder and president of W. Graham Associates Inc. and continuing his service to the country for decades as an active member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
He is survived by the love of his life, Ann. They had a beautiful marriage that lasted more than 67 years. They loved each other, laughed with each other, and enjoyed each other’s company until the very last moment. He is also survived by his children, William II and his wife Charlene, Jonathan and his wife Lisa, his six loving grandchildren, Mary, Christin, Felicia, Matthew, Michaela and Elizabeth, his siblings Suzanne Ryan, David Graham, and Susan Clogston, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday June 19, 2023 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
