William Henry Emmith, 83, of Newburyport, died July 29, 2021 at Port Healthcare in Newburyport from complications due to Lymphoma.
He was born on March 19, 1938 in Beverly, Mass to Albert and Florence (Auger) Emmith.
William attended Beverly Public Schools and was a graduate of St. John's Prep in Danvers, Mass and Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
He was a teacher for over 30 years, beginning at the former Currier School in Newburyport before retiring from the Salem, Mass school system.
On July 20, 1962, he married the love of his life, Barbara (Turner) with whom he had four children.
He was predeceased by his wife, his sister Virginia and his parents.
William is survived by his children and their spouses: David and Maria Emmith of Florida and Maine, Mark and Karen Emmith of Byfield, Christine and Daniel Brown of Newbury and Diane and Jeffrey Maguire of Newton, NH; His grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the greatest blessings of his life: Nicole, Craig, Ethan and Vivian Bodycombe; Bryan, Zachary, Brianne, Kirsten, Spencer and Willow Emmith; Hayley, Joshua and Cassidy Brown; Samantha, Mackenzie, Danielle and Peyton Maguire; Ian and Kirsten Kitchens.
At the family's request, there are no calling hours. Funeral and burial services will be private. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Emmith’s family with his funeral arrangements.
