William D. Desmond

William Donald Desmond passed away November 15, 2024. Bill was born August 30th 1926 in Newburyport to John and Flora (Plante) Desmond. Bill enlisted in the US Army Air Corp immediately after graduating from Newburyport High School. He was very proud of his WWII service. William married Dorothy Fournier on September 1949 and had just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Bill and Dot enjoyed many years of retirement on the golf course.

He left behind his wife Dorothy and 3 children: Michael (Janice), Robert (Jody), and Gail (Doug) Packer; 4 grandchildren: Michael Packer, Tracey Desmond, Robert W. Desmond, and Samantha Desmond; 4 great grandchildren, Ryen Dai, Finnley, and Gennes Packer, and Jayden Locke; as well as his sister June Nichols. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother John and sister Jacquline Dobson.

There will be no services per request of his family.The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Desmond’s family with his arrangements.
