Vivian J. (Roman) Sweeney

Vivian Sweeney, 75 of Newburyport, MA passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025 after a long battle with illness. Vivian was the daughter of the late Michael and Alexandra Roman of Newburyport. She was born and raised in Newburyport where she graduated high school. After high school Vivian was a distinguished hair dresser locally for many years before becoming a banker. Vivian was known best for her long career with the Institution for Savings where she was known locally by many, and established deep friendships with colleagues and patrons alike.

Vivian pre deceased her husband Dan, 67, also of Newburyport who she loved very much. Both Vivian and Dan were inseparable from each other, always tackling life’s adventures as one. She and Dan loved spending time with family, and especially adored their granddaughter, Reagan.

She is survived by her son Michael, and his wife Ashley Sweeney, and their daughter Reagan of Newton, NH. As well as many cousins, extended family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to her Graveside Service on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St Mary’s Cemetery in Newburyport, MA. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Sweeney’s family with her arrangements.
