Victor Tavares, Jr. Obituary

Victor Tavares, 47, of Amesbury, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Victor was born on January 20, 1978 in Boston, MA and grew up in New Bedford. He attended Salve Regina University, where he met the love of his life, Lesley (Abdulla) Tavares. They graduated together in 2000 and were married on November 16, 2002. Victor went on to earn his master’s degree from Boston University and became a Certified Financial Analyst. He was dedicated to his career as an Investment Risk Analyst at Insight Investment in Boston, MA.

Victor and Lesley built a beautiful life together, filled with incredible love, laughter, and countless cherished memories over their 22 years of marriage. Victor was the proud and devoted father to Sam and Celia, never missing a moment on the sidelines of their games. Whether coaching basketball or cheering them on, his presence was a constant source of encouragement and love.

Victor was a man of many passions. His love for the Boston Celtics and music were unmatched, and he was always ready to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for the game and sang at celebratory events big and small. Victor was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, sharing good food and laughter. His contagious laugh could light up a room.

A man who lived each day to the fullest, Victor’s warmth and generosity knew no bounds. He was the person everyone turned to, always ready to lend a helping hand, offering advice, or simply sharing a laugh. He was not only a loving husband, father, son, and brother but also a second father figure to many of his children’s friends.

Victor is survived by his beloved wife, Lesley Tavares, and his cherished children, Samuel and Celia. He is also deeply missed by his mother, Laurie Brickman-Rich, and her husband Russell Rich, and his father, Victor Earl Tavares, Sr., and his wife Tina Tavares. He leaves behind his sister, Diane Genereux; his brother, Joshua Brickman, and his wife Kathy; and his sisters-in-law, Rachel Sayer and her husband Chris, and Nicole Prunier and her husband Matt. He was a beloved son-in-law of Donna and Frederick Abdulla. Victor was a devoted uncle to Juliet, Mason, Tyler, Jacob, and India, and leaves behind many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and step-siblings who will miss him dearly.

Victor’s life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and love. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
