Shirley K Southworth left the earth on January 29, 2024, Shirley was 94 years old. Her husband of 70 years passed away in June, 2022. A native of Massachusetts, she was a champion of community, both personal and professional. Shirley was a longtime church member and mission board chair for First Trinitarian Church of Scituate, the director of publications for the Secretary of State of Massachusetts, and the elder of her Southworth family. Shirely was an accomplished artist, graphic designer, gardener and fly fisher person. She and her whole family enjoyed summers at Squam Lake, a place that she called her home.
She is sorely missed by her communities and especially her three daughters, Sue Charles, Judith Southworth, and Andrea Southworth, and her four grandchildren Brewster Charles and his wife Sarah, Bridget Maley and her husband Jason Maley along with their children Mirabelle and Violet, Grace Charles and her husband Curt Nerkhorn, and Tucker Charles.
A family gathering will celebrate her life in March and she will rest at the Plainville Massachusetts Cemetery.
