Shirley “MiMi” T. Fitzgerald age 83 and lifelong resident of Newburyport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Amesbury with her family by her side. She was born in Newburyport on December 17, 1937 the daughter of the late Andrew and Frances (Drew) Parasso. She was raised and educated in Newburyport.
MiMi had worked as a housekeeper at Country Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport for many years. She always enjoyed spending time and interacting with the residents there.
She cherished the time that she spent with her longtime friend Janet Belanger playing endless games of “Skipo”. She enjoyed her puzzles and especially liked testing her luck playing scratch tickets. Her family meant the world to her. She looked forward to spending her time with her children, grandchildren and all of the kids in the neighborhood.
MiMi was predeceased by her husband Patrick Fitzgerald in 1988. She is survived by her daughters Kim Raymond and husband Bob of Amesbury, Karol MacDonald and husband Lance of Salisbury and Karen Timmons and husband Kevin of Amesbury, her son Patrick Fitzgerald of Amesbury, Her grandchildren Dylan Fitzgerald, Daniel Kelleher, Timothy Timmons, Krista Timmons, Kailee Barwick and husband Corbin, Nicole Raymond, Noah Lattime and Samantha Richards, her great-granddaughter Alayah Timmons and her soon to be born great-grandson Brison Barwick, due in December. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dogs Callie and Wesley.
Calling hours are Monday, September 13, 2021 from 9 – 11:00 AM at Twomey, LeBlanc and Conte Funeral Home, 193 High Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the calling hours at Immaculate Conception Parish, 42 Green Street in Newburyport. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 36 Storey Ave in Newburyport.
