Sean J. Hanley of Salisbury MA passed away peacefully at his home on August 27, 2024 surrounded by his wife and family. Sean was born in Boston MA to William and Elizabeth Hanley, the 3rd of 6 children. In 1964 the family moved from Boston to Plum Island. Sean enlisted in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Upon discharge he began a career at Towle Silver, followed by employment at Bixby International until his retirement. Sean was an avid music fan, and a fan of Boston sports teams, especially The Celtics. He enjoyed playing softball for the North End Boat Club and enjoyed a game of tennis and basketball. His sharp sense of humor will be sorely missed.
Sean is survived by his wife MaryEllen O’Donnell-Hanley, brother Joe and his wife Mary Hanley of Merrimac MA, sister Lisa Beal and her husband Morris of Seabrook NH, his sister Maryellen Pitttounicos of Merrimac MA, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents, his brothers William “Bill” and Edward Hanley, his brother-in-law Chris Pittounicos, and niece Tia Pittounicos.

Per Sean’s wishes there will be no funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held the Winners Circle in Salisbury on November 9, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Hanley’s family with his arrangements,
