Rose-Marie T. Stukas – Beverly, MA
Our dearly loved Rose-Marie passed away peacefully on October 7, 2021 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. She was born in Cambridge, MA, the oldest child of Lawrence and Rose-Marie (McCloskey) Tracy. She is survived by her daughter, Alicemarie “Allie” Jones and her husband, Frederick “Ted” Jones of Newburyport. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph G. Stukas. At the time of death Rose-Marie lived at Colonial Gardens in Beverly, MA. However, she spent most of her life living in Belmont, MA.
She is also survived by her sisters Christine Coppola and her husband, Pat of Belmont, Monica Rankin and her husband, Bruce (deceased) of Acton, MA, and Elizabeth Greene and her husband, Peter of Boston, MA. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Tracy and her sister Angela Tracy.
Rose-Marie graduated from Rosary Academy High School and the Burbank School of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Boston University. She worked for 35 years as a registered nurse at Mass General Hospital in various nursing positions. Buddy, as she was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a lifelong patron of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and enjoyed listening to classical music on WCRB which was always playing on the radio throughout her home. Rose-Marie was an advocate for animals and loved the many dogs she had throughout her life, particularly Bella and Godiva.
Buddy is also survived by her grandchildren Caitlin McGuinness and her husband, John Drew of Methuen; Brendan Jones of Burlington, MA; Bridget Jones and her husband, Kenny Wilson of Salisbury, MA; and Bronwen Robinson of Jersey City, NJ. Her great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly, are Logan McGuinness, Carlos Jones, Maya Wilson and Parker Melvin. Buddy was eagerly anticipating the birth of Caitlin’s daughter in the next few weeks.
Calling hours will be held at the Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High Street, Newburyport, MA 01950 on Monday, October 11th from 5-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 12th at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green Street, Newburyport, MA. A private Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Veteran’s Cemetery in Bourne, MA where she will be reunited with her loving husband, Joe.
