Ronald I. Goodrich, 85, a resident of Amesbury, passed away early Monday morning October 24, 2022 at Milltown Health and Rehabilitation in Amesbury. He was born in Groveland, MA on July 11, 1937 to the late DeMont and Edna (McCormick) Goodrich and was raised in Salisbury and Newburyport. Before his graduation from High School Ronald enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served our country proudly. During his service he also achieved his GED. Upon his honorable discharge in September of 1959, Ronald returned home and began his career in the Telecommunication Industry. He was employed as a machine setter for then Western Electric in North Andover until his retirement in 1993.
An avid outdoorsman, Ronald loved spending time on his boat fishing. He especially loved being on the ocean. He also enjoyed duck hunting as well as other game. Later on in life Ronald began building and flying remote controlled airplanes, a hobby that brought him much joy.
Ronald is survived by his wife Gloria (Sirois) Goodrich of Amesbury; son, Craig Goodrich and his fiancé Cheryl Strauch of Georgetown; grand daughter, Katherine Goodrich of St. Cloud, FL; sister, Marlene Gamlin; as well as niece and nephews, Richard Shea, Jr., David Gamlin, and Michelle Fallon. He also leaves behind, sisters-in-law, Edith Josephson and Evelyn Dunphy; brother-in-law, Robert Dunphy; and sister-in-law, Sharon Sirois.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday November 1, 2022 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Services and burial will be private. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT.
