Romilda “Dolly” Dow passed away peacefully on December 22, 2022. Se was born on July 26, 1927 in Lawrence to Catelle and Michelina (Razza) Cascone, youngest of her 10 siblings. She is survived by her cherished sons, John Jr., three granddaughters, Shannon, Kendra, Samantha and son Robert “Bobby” and his partner Teri. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dolly was predeceased by her husband John “Jack” Dow, daughter in law Kim Dow, and all 10 of her siblings.
Dolly met her husband Jack on the beach in Salisbury where he was a lifeguard. The couple married in 1950 and raised their family in Newburyport. Dolly was employed for a short time at Towle Silversmith and the Chase Shawmut Company in Newburyport before becoming a Homemaker raising her boys. Upon Jack’s retirement the couple enjoyed spending winters with their extended family in South Florida and summers with their immediate family in Newburyport. Dolly enjoyed being near the water, boating, and spending time at the beach. She was a social, well-liked lady, loving wife, dedicated mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed. Dolly was a long-time member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport, MA.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday December 27, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St., Newburyport MA. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday December 28, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Dow’s name to Immaculate Conception Church 42 Green St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
