Robert Short Obituary

Robert Allan Short, 67, died peacefully on July 16, 2018 at Oceanside Center in Hampton, NH. He was born in Newburyport on March 11, 1951 to the late Charles Grant Short and Rose (Eaton) Horowicz. He was raised in Newburyport and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. In his high school years Robert was a member of the band “Chocolate Covered Donuts”

Following his graduation Robert was employed by Bailey’s Corporation as a Machinist for 25 years before his retirement. In 2002 he met his future wife Kim-Ellen Bergan and the couple were married in 2012. Robert enjoyed attending FleaMarkets and Yard Sales, performing Karaoke and was an avid history buff.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Kim-Ellen Short; children, Robert Allan Short, Jr. and his wife Beth, Keith Short and his wife Ariel, Ian Short and his wife Dr. Jacquelin Short, and Michael Short and his fiancé Erin Mahar; step children, David Bergan and Jennifer Lindsay; 10 grandchildren; sister Judith Girard; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his brother Charles Grant Short, Jr.

Family and friends may call on Sunday July 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Parking available behind the Funeral Home. Services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Short’s name to the charity of ones choice.
