Robert J. Ratcliffe

Robert "Bobby" Ratcliffe passed away Wednesday January 25, 2023 in Salem, MA. He was born in Lawrence, MA on September 21, 1957 to Joanne (Mleczo) and the late Robert “Red” Ratcliffe. Robert attended schools in various parts of the world as he was from a military family and played on the Little League Championship All Star team in Italy and was one win away from the Little League World Series. He graduated from Triton High School, where he was a standout baseball player and while in college, he continued his passion for the sport with the Rowley Rams. He was an avid golfer and a member of The Hole in One Club. 

Robert continued his education achieving his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and was a proud contributor to the Wentworth Library Renovation fund. Robert was the sole owner and operator of Ratcliffe Remodeling Company which he held many licenses and certificates and was well known for his meticulous attention to detail. 

Robert is survived by his mother, Joanne Ratcliffe of Salisbury; his partner of 42 years, Diane Queen of Salem; siblings, Jay Ratcliffe of TX, Mark Ratcliffe of FL, Mary Jo McKinnon of MA, Patricia Moylan and her husband Mark of FL, Jim Ratcliffe and his wife Becky of CO; nieces and nephews, Daniel, Brooke, Hunter, Hannah, Boston, Hattie, and Bodie; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday February 3, 2023 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950, followed by a Funeral Mass at Star of the Sea Church in Salisbury at 1:00. Burial will be private at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wentworth Institute of Technology in memory of Robert Ratcliffe.
