Robert "Bubba" Hanson

Robert “Bubba” Hanson, a resident of Kensington, NH, died Saturday December 10, 2022, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Robert was born in Newburyport on August 22, 1952 to the late James and Virginia (Hayes) Hanson. He was raised and educated in Newburyport graduating from Newburyport High School Class in 1970. He continued his education attending the University of Notre Dame and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

Bubba was employed by the City of Newburyport as a mechanic for 33 years.  He enjoyed boating, fishing, photography and spending time with friends and family. He also enjoyed working on and driving his 1967 Coronet GTX convertible. He was a member of the North End Boat Club, The Neptunes, the Sea Shore Trolly Museum and served on the board of directors of the Kensington Historical Society.

Bubba is survived by his wife, Laurie McGhee of Kensington; brother, Tom Hanson of Seabrook; many nieces and one nephew.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday December 14, 2022 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, 01950. His Graveside Service at 12:30 pm will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newburyport.
