Robert Norman Brunault, 91, a resident of Merrimac died at his home surrounded by his loving family Friday morning on August 7, 2020. He was born in Haverhill on November 25, 1928 to the late Honorenus and Marie Louise (Ratté) Brunault. Robert was always known as Norman. He was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School before his induction in the US Army. He served our country proudly with the 278th Infantry during the Korean War.
Upon his return from service, Robert was employed by Western Electric as a Machinist for 39 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a Life member of the DAV, the American Legion and the Western Electric Pioneers. Robert enjoyed traveling with his wife Julie, especially their cruises to Alaska and trips to Ireland. He also enjoyed his time spent at home with family and friends.
Robert is survived by his wife Julie Ann (Murray) Brunault of Merrimac; children, Alan Brunault of Merrimac, Brian Brunault and his wife Gale of West Newbury, and Debra Lay and her husband Doug of Union, ME; grandchildren, Karen Ann Duguay, Kelly Lynn Brunault, Shannon Catherine Brunault, and Brett Hamilton Phinney; great grandson, Andrew Paul Duguay; as well as many nieces and nephews. Robert was pre-deceased by his 4 brothers, Lionel, Roland, Maurice, and Paul Brunault.
Family and friends are invited to Robert’s calling hours from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday August 11, 2020 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church and burial at St. Mary Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Brunault’s name to Merrimac Valley VNA and mailed to Home Health Foundation 360 Merrimack Street, Building 9 Lawrence, MA 01843.
