Richard Lewis Noyes, 86, died Wednesday December 23, 2020 at his residence in Amesbury. He was born in Georgetown, MA on March 9, 1934 to the late Samuel and Bertha (Dawkins) Noyes. Dick was a graduate of Governor’s Academy in Byfield, he furthered his education graduating from the New England School of Art in Boston. Following his graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served our country proudly.
Dick was a self employed Illustrator. Throughout his long career he produced artwork for several companies, including educational book publishers, New England Telephone, Life Magazine, Berlitz Language Schools, Sesame Street publications as well as artwork for local banks and Governor’s Academy. Dick semi-retired in 2000, although still doing some select work as he could.
He enjoyed fly fishing and tying his own flies, day trips North and spending time with his grandchildren.
Dick is survived by his wife Charlotte (McDonald) Noyes of Amesbury; daughter, Karen Kent and her husband Winthrop of Amesbury; grandchildren, Timothy Kent and Patrick Kent and his wife Amber; one great grandchild to arrive soon; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Albert, Sam, and Paul Noyes.
Family and friends are invited to his graveside service at 10:00 AM on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at St. Mary Cemetery. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Noyes’ family with his arrangements.
