Richard L. Garand

Richard L. Garand, age 76, husband of Yvonne (LeBlanc) Garand of Byfield, passed away on March 25, 2022 at High Pointe House in Haverhill, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born in Newburyport, MA on May 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Jeremie and Doris (Teel) Garand.

Richard had a warm and loving personality. An Extremely smart man, and was able to fix anything.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Paulette Rouse and her husband Dan of Nottingham, NH, and Michele Bradley and her husband Kevin of Boxford, MA; five grandchildren, Ashlyn Murphy and her husband John, Trevor Rouse, Lauren Rouse, Megan Bradley, and Melanie Bradley; great grand-daughter, Hayden Murphy; sister,  Dolores White and her late husband Tom; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill Scanlon and his wife Louise; as well as several nieces, a nephew, several aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

A graveside service will be held later in the spring. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Garand’s family with his arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to High Pointe House 360 North Ave. Haverhill, MA 01830.
