Reinert Uhrmann, 78 of Weymouth passed into eternal rest May 7, 2026 surrounded by his loving family and long-term loving partner after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Germany, he came to the USA with his mother at the age of 12. He was a Naval Veteran who served on the guided missile cruiser, The USS William H. Standley during the Viet Nam War. He spent most of his career in the Food and Beverage industry working his way up to Food and Beverage Director at the Hyatt, the reopening of the Biltmore Plaza Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island, The Sheraton Hotel in Boston and Jason’s Night Club in Boston. After 9/11, he joined the MBTA and retired in 2016.
People always remembered him where ever he went. As his grandson said, you couldn’t go anywhere without bumping into someone he knew. He greeted everyone with his wonderful smile and always had a positive outlook and a wicked sense of humor. In his free time, he enjoyed going to the gym, watching sports and taking long rides to discover new places. Most of all, he loved his family and his long-term loving companion, Janice who he spent the better part of almost 50 years with. They shared a very special, loving bond that never faded with time.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Jeanne Uhrmann of Dedham, his son Scott Uhrmann of Dedham, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren and his devoted long- term love, Janice Bello. He was predeceased by his mother, Katharine Romano of Astoria, NY and his son Eric Uhrmann of Dedham.
Funeral Services were private with the immediate family.
