Ramona Souther

Ramona Souther, 62, died at her residence in Merrimac, MA on Monday February 15, 2021. She was born in Newburyport on March 18, 1958 to the late Jane E. (McDermott) and Harold Souther, Sr. Ramona was raised in Newburyport and attended Newburyport High School.

Following high school she married her former husband, Ralph Prescott and the couple lived all over the east coast as he was in the Military, until they settled back in Newburyport. She then married to Dennis Coombs and they lived locally until his passing.

Ramona was a customer service representative for many local establishments over her long career. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and cross-stitching in her spare time. Nothing gave her more joy than taking care of her family and babysitting all the little ones through the years.

Ramona is survived by her children, Rhonda Weber and her husband Austin of Hampton, Audra Prescott and her significant other Stephen Berry of Hampton, and Zachary Souther and his significant other Ivory Burnham of Merrimac; grandchildren, Jennie-Rebecca, Joey, Bailey, Ryan, and Michaela; great grandchildren, Damien, Mason, and Summer; siblings, Anna Souther, Pebbles White, Wayne Souther and Harold Souther; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by sisters, Debbie Bradbury and Delores Frost.

Services and burial will be private. Family and friends are invited to Ramona’s calling hours from 12:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday February 21, 2021 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ramona’s name to American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA  22116-7023.
