Philip Blanchette, 62, passed away in his home in Amesbury on January 22, 2020.
He was born in Brighton, MA on August 21, 1957 to the late Robert and Helen (O’Connor) Blanchette. He was raised in Belmont and was a graduate of Belmont High School, he continued his education attending Northeastern University.
Following his education Philip was currently employed by Verizon Communications as a Lineman for over 40 years. Phil was a dedicated and active member of IBEW local 2222 Boston. He was an avid New England sports fan with a passion for baseball. Philip enjoyed coaching his children in the Pioneer League during the 90s.
Philip is survived by his wife, Michelle (Connors) Blanchette of Newburyport; children, Robert Blanchette of South Boston, Kimberly Blanchette and her fiancé Sam Melanson of Newburyport, and Sarah Blanchette of Newburyport; siblings, Robert Blanchette and his wife Maria of Calabash, NC, Karen Snyder and her husband George of Bethesda, MD, David Blanchette and his wife Karen of Medfield, MA, and Eileen Blanchette and her wife Ann Quenin of Carlisle, MA; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday January 27, 2020 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church on Tuesday January 28, 2020 at 10:30 AM, followed by burial at St Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Philip’s name to The Pelican Intervention Fund.
