Paul E. Sullivan Jr, 67, of Newburyport, MA, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Springfield, MA in 1955 to the late Mary H Sullivan and the late Paul E Sullivan Sr. Paul grew up in Chicopee, MA and is a graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA and Fairfield University in CT. Paul was retired at the time of his death though most recently he had been a Senior Benefits Consultant with Segal Consulting in Boston, and previously an Assistant Vice President and Research Consultant with AON in Newburyport.
Friends describe Paul as an intelligent, gentle, kind, and thoughtful man with a quick wit and calming nature, the epitome of a gentleman. Everybody loved Paul and he made everyone feel important and respected. He loved the beach, golfing, skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette Sullivan of Newburyport, MA; his sister, Joan Duffy and husband Patrick of Simsbury, CT, his sister Ellen Farley of Agawam, MA; brothers in law and their wives, Richard Brownell Sr and wife Marie of Derry, NH, Thomas Brownell and wife Beth of Stuart, FL; several nieces and nephews - Rachel Farley and husband Eric Hodges of Chicopee, MA, Alana Rebb and husband Jacob of Agawam, MA, Patrick J Duffy of NYC, NY, Rosemarie Goldman and husband Jon of Cortlandt Manor, NY, Richard Brownell Jr of Windham NH, Matthew Brownell of Riverview, FL, Christopher Brownell and wife Laura of Derry, NH, Jessica Roberto and husband Michael of Seattle, WA, Andrew Brownell and wife Michelle of Puyallup, WA, Christine Girard of Salem, MA and Stephen Girard Jr of Manchester, NH. He also leaves behind many great-nieces, and great-nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday November 2, 2023 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday November 3, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by burial at Oakhill Cemetery. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
