Obituary

Paul Francis Kitchenka, 59, of Newbury MA, passed away in his home on May 18, 2023. Paul was born April 18, 1964 in Lowell, MA to Francis L and Carol (Cain) Kitchenka. Paul leaves behind his mother and his two loving children Lucy Grace and Douglas Paul as well as their mother Marianne Kitchenka. In addition he leaves his brother Bryan and wife Valerie along with their children Graham, Erin, and Riley Kitchenka and his sister Julie Ferland, her husband Chris and their daughter Isabelle. He also leaves his dear Aunt Nancy Cain Baker Haney, Aunt Susan Clasby, and extended family who feel his loss deeply.

Paul grew up in Foxboro, MA and graduated from Foxboro High School in 1982. He went on to join the U.S Army, afterwards attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst while remaining active in the Army National Guard, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 1988. Paul started his career at Star Market but soon decided to switch careers and earned his Certificate of Accounting at Suffolk University, earning straight A’s. He had a long and successful career in accounting until his passing.

Paul lived most of his life in Massachusetts but loved to travel both internationally and throughout the United States. Paul was an avid reader who also loved the beach, boating, riding his motorcycle, hiking, biking, taking his granddog Tuukka for walks, and being outdoors.

Paul will forever be remembered for his dry, acerbic wit and sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

In accordance with Paul’s wishes, his ashes will be returned to the sea in a private service and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to remember Paul in a special way may make donations in his honor to Plum Island Foundation https://plumislandfoundation.org/support/ , Lymphoma Research Foundation https://lymphoma.org/understanding-lymphoma/aboutlymphoma/nhl/ , or the Bedford Veterans Association, VA Bedford Healthcare System, CDCE (135), 200 Springs Road, Bedford, Massachusetts 01730, check payable to “Bedford VA”.
