It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Paul D. Flaherty, 76, on Saturday, June 14th.
Paul was the third of six children born to Thomas .J (Jr.) and Julia (Lynch) Flaherty. He is survived by his siblings Eileen Flaherty, Thomas J. Flaherty III, Joan M. Flaherty, Ann (Flaherty) Wiltz, and his sister-in-law Susanne Flaherty. He was predeceased by his brother, David. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
From an early age, he stood out for his brilliance, compassion, and quick wit. He was an accomplished pianist whose music brought comfort and beauty to those around him. Fluent in three languages, Paul was a true intellectual, driven by a deep curiosity and a love of learning.
Those who knew Paul will remember his gentleness, his quiet strength, his sense of humor, and the kindness he showed to others, even as he faced profound personal challenges. Throughout his life, Paul struggled with mental health issues, but he never stopped striving. His courage in the face of adversity was a quiet testament to his enduring spirit.
Paul's life reminds us of the complexities of the human experience, the beauty of resilience, and the lasting power of kindness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he rest in peace.
