Paul Callahan Obituary

Paul Joseph Callahan passed away on April 6, 2022 surrounded by family in one of his favorite places on earth, Plum Island. Paul resided in Charlestown with his beloved wife of ten years, Lisa (Hennigar) who devotedly cared for him throughout his battle with cancer. He was strong-willed to his last breath and leaves behind a love of life that will be remembered by family and friends forever.

Born to the late Gerald and Margaret (Coyne) Callahan on May 6, 1951, Paul grew up in Arlington, MA along with his three sisters: Anne Fitzgerald, Janice Eisert, and Joan Regan. He married Anne Lindberg in 1979 and settled in Hingham, MA where they had their only child, Matt Callahan. Paul was a devoted father who spent countless hours coaching his son in both hockey and baseball. He later became a loving father-in-law to Matt’s wife Maggie and doting grandfather to their children Katherine and Erin. He was Uncle Paul to eighteen nieces and nephews, each of whom he loved to the end.

Paul graduated from Arlington Catholic High School, where he played hockey, prior to attending Boston State College. He began his career working for Johnnie’s Foodmaster before spending the majority of his work life in national sales roles with Conagra Foods, Nestle Waters North America, and Mountain Valley Spring Water.

Whether with food, drink, blankets, gifts, or his time, Paul enjoyed taking care of family, friends, and neighbors. He was quick to help anyone in need throughout his life and always embraced the hard work that came with those efforts. He was a gracious entertainer whose work connections often developed into meaningful friendships. He enjoyed traveling, especially when he was able to bring his golf clubs and friends to some of the most prestigious courses in the world. He could frequently be found sharing stories and laughs while touring his favorite breweries and restaurants or attending sporting events across the Northeast.
