Pamela Mae Donahue, 74, passed away Monday morning May 16, 2022 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport after a brief illness. She was born in Newburyport on June 26,1947 to the late Mae (Reynolds) Donahue. Raised and educated in Newburyport, Pamela was a graduate of Newburyport High School, class of 1965.
Following her graduation she worked at Western Electric, then as a bookkeeper for Hudson’s Outboard in Newburyport. Prior to retiring, she served in the Treasury Department for the City of Newburyport.
First and foremost, Pamela was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grammy to her only grandchild Nina. Pamela had a vivacious personality and could always make people laugh. She was a kind soul who made everyone feel welcome and comfortable.
In her spare time Pamela enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, tending to her plants and amazing garden, and spending time with family and friends at the beach. Even as they grieve her loss, her family will always cherish her vibrant spirit.
Pamela is survived by her children, Meghan Rowley and her husband John of South Weymouth, MA, and Shane Callery and his wife Maura McCarthy of West Newbury, MA; her granddaughter, Nina Rowley; her partner of over 20 years, William Doherty of Seabrook; her former husband, Paul Callery of Newbury, her brother Blair Donahue and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to Pamela’s Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport, MA. Following the service, all are welcome to a celebration of life at the PITA Hall Plum Island, MA. Burial will be private at a later date. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting with the arrangements.
