Monalei C. (Freeman) Langmaid

Monalei Langmaid, age 69, of Salisbury, MA, passed away on December 22, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Escondido, CA, in 1956 to John Freeman and Helen Walle. A longtime resident of Newburyport, Monalei attended the Career School, Newburyport High School, and Northern Essex Community College. She married Kenneth Langmaid on March 19, 1982. 

Mona was always up for a road trip. She loved camping on the Saco and truly loved Christmas. She had a deep love for dogs and was the proud "mom" to two four-legged children and three granddogs. Most of all, she loved her entire family. 

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Langmaid; sons, Kenny Langmaid and Matthew Langmaid; grandchildren, Joshua Langmaid and Jax Matthew Langmaid. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Klausnitzer. She was predeceased by her brother, John, and her sister, Jolene. 

Calling hours will be held at the Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home 193 High Street, Newburyport, MA 01950 on Thursday, January 15, 2025, from 5 to 8 PM. A celebration of Life will be held at the Newburyport Elks at 2:00 PM on January 16, 2025.
