Mildred C. Beebe, 93, a resident of Salisbury passed away Friday morning March 4, 2022 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. She was born in Melrose, MA on April 12, 1928 to the late John “Ed” Edward and Emily (Burke) Classen. Mildred was raised and educated in Wakefield graduating from Wakefield High School.
Following her graduation Mildred was employed at the family business, Classen Brothers Garage (the last independent Dodge Dealership in MA) as a Bookkeeper until its closing. She was then employed at Port Office Products until her retirement. During her retirement Mildred was employed at the Newburyport YWCA, and also volunteered at the Newburyport Custom House.
Mildred was an avid gardener and enjoyed boating on the Parker River with her late husband John H. Beebe III, as well as traveling to Bar Harbor, ME and Bermuda. She and her family spent every summer at their family retreat in Popham Beach, ME. enjoying time with friends and family.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Martha MacLean and her husband Charlie of Salisbury, and Jennifer Drouin and her late husband James J. Drouin of Salisbury; grandchildren, Stephanie MacLean Maynard and her husband Robert of Salisbury, Jonathan MacLean and his wife Lynne of Salisbury, Jeffrey Drouin and his wife Mary of Haverhill, and Melissa Drouin Davis and her husband Tyler of Salisbury; great grandchildren, Keira, Molly, Jack, Riley, Delaney, Finn, and Meredith; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Mildred was predeceased by her siblings, Edward Classen, Charles “Bud” Classen, and Emily McLaughlin.
Family and friends are invited to her Funeral Services 10:30 AM on Thursday March 10, 2022 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Burial will be private at a later date. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT.
