Michon Creveling, born December 18, 1939, in Dothan, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85. A 1960 graduate of Texas Christian University, Michon embarked on a journey of lifelong service and teaching that touched countless lives.
In August 1961, Harolyn Michon Steele and Lieutenant Elmer Creveling, her beloved husband of nearly 40 years, were married at Fort Rucker, Alabama. After serving at several military postings throughout the United States, they settled in Berwick, Maine to raise their two sons. It was there that Michon devoted herself to her family and her passion for education, teaching junior high school students for nearly 30 years.
Michon cherished the friendships she formed with her fellow teachers and took great pride in the accomplishments of her many students. She is survived by her brother and two sons, who carry forward her values and her love for family.
A celebration of Michon’s life will be held at a later date in Berwick, Maine. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Creveling’s family with her arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to a local education fund or charity of your choice.
