Melinda Elizabeth Carey

Melinda Elizabeth Carey, 57, passed away Sunday March 20, 2022 at Anna Jaques Hospital after a lifelong battle with Diabetes. She was born in Newburyport on August 24, 1964 to Donald and Janice (Krekorian) Carey. Raised and educated in Newburyport, Melinda was a graduate of Newburyport High School. She furthered her education graduating from the University of New Hampshire with her Bachelors of Nursing Degree.

Melinda started her career in health care at a very young age, becoming a “Candy Striper” at Anna Jaques Hospital. She continued her entire working career at Anna Jaques Hospital, where she was a Cardiac Nurse and concluded her employment as a Diabetic Educator.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Especially during Yankee Homecoming, when she always took her vacation.

In addition to her parents, Melinda is survived by her sisters, Shelly Daniels and her husband Thomas of East Wakefield, NH and Cathleen Gray and her husband Morris of Salisbury; nieces and nephews, Jennifer DeAngelo, Becky Vieira, Christian Gray, Stephen Daniels, Nathaniel Gray and Matt Daniels; great nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, T.J., Harper, and Clare; as well as many friends and colleagues.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday March 24, 2022 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Service will be Celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday March 25, 2022 in the Funeral Home. Burial will be private at a later date. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT.
