Mary Louise Hayes

Mary Louise Hayes, 83, a resident of Newburyport died Thursday March 30, 2017 at Port Healthcare in Newburyport. She was born in Newburyport on November 9, 1933 to the late James and Geraldine (Murphy) Hayes. She was educated at the Immaculate Conception School and later was employed by C.B.S. Hytron followed by Gould Shawmut until her retirement.  

She was an avid reader and loved to “Have her say” in the Newburyport Daily News, sometimes to the dismay of her family. 

Mary Lou is survived by her sister Geraldine Fowler and her husband Dennis of Newburyport; nieces and nephews, Maria Gilfus and her husband Ray of Salisbury; Sheila Wedge and her husband Joe of Bellevue, NE; Robert Hanson and his wife Laurie of Kensington, NH; Don Furbush and his wife Jen of VT; James Furbush and his wife Carolyn of Lawrence; Tom Hanson; and Barry Hayes and his wife Susan of Atkinson, NH; brother-in-law Jim Hanson of Kensington, NH; as well as many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Leo Hayes, Arthur Hayes and Virginia Hanson. 

Family and friends are invited to her graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newburyport on Wednesday April 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Miss Hayes’s family with her funeral arrangements.
