Mary was born in Newburyport on December 23, 1943 to Bernard and Helen (Haley) Manning.
Mary is survived by her daughters: Kimellen (Todd) Gibbons and Jennifer Rocco-Runnion. Grandchildren: Ryan Janvrin (Kate); Jordyn, Jackson and Jacob Gibbons; Zion, Sunny and Anabella Blu Runnion. Great granddaughter, MaryJane Janvrin.
Sister of Claire Goodridge (Jack). Aunt of Peter Goodridge, Beth Mulroy, Stephen Goodridge and Suellen Booth, all of FL.
Sister-in-law of Richard and Julie Rocco. Aunt of Richard Rocco and Christine Price.
Predeceased by her parents, her brother Bernard “Sonny” Manning and her husband Leo J. Rocco.
Mary attended St. Joseph’s School in Amesbury before moving with her parents to Lorain, Ohio where she graduated from high school.
Mary was a well-known figure around Newburyport, having worked for several local firms: the Newburyport Credit Bureau, Arlington Trust Bank, and Bennett & Company.
Mary was an active volunteer at Anna Jaques Hospital and the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce. Mary was involved in many political campaigns over the years, and took pride in volunteering at the Ward 6 voting polls.
Mary’s request is that we remember our positive interactions with her, and to always be kind to one another.
At Mary’s request, services and burial will be private at a later date. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950, is assisting Mrs. Rocco’s family with her arrangements.
