It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mary Theresa (Quinn) Prescott on February 11, 2025 in Newburyport, MA. Mary Theresa (Quinn) Prescott was born on January 9, 1945 in New York City. She was raised in Manhattan and Queens and graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan. She spent the majority of her years in Atlanta, GA where she made many life-long friends and raised her children along with their father Jack. She was a pediatric and cardiology nurse. She was a devout Catholic attending church regularly including serving as Eucharistic Minister for many years. Mary enjoyed music and singing, celebrating her Irish heritage all year long, skiing, reading, her love for our family golden retrievers, collecting antique clocks, gardening, bird watching, walking, visiting her much loved children, and spending time with her many friends, especially her best friends the Ya-Ya's in Atlanta.
She is survived by Kelly Prescott, her daughter and her fiancée Tucker Bixby and his family, Michael Prescott, her son, and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Patsy Sanders, sister Loretta Houlihan, her mother Nora Callaghan Quinn, her father Gerard James Quinn, her cousin James O’Rourke “Uncle Red” who helped raiser her, and John “Jack” William Prescott, father of her children.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport, MA at 10:30 AM on March 14, 2025 followed immediately by an Irish celebration of life at the Prescott-Bixby residence in Newbury, MA. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Prescott’s family with her arrangements.
