Mary Kelleher Obituary

Mary D. (Frost) Kelleher, widow of John D. (Jake) Kelleher passed away on April 24, 2020, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, after a steady decline in health. Mary was the  daughter of the late Everett and Dorothy (Wilson) Frost, predeceased by her siblings James(Jack)Frost of Florida, and Evelyn(Frost) Howe of Colorado.

Born and raised in Newburyport, Mary graduated from Newburyport High School in 1954. Upon graduation, she became a telephone operator for Bell Telephone. Following her time at the telephone company, she worked at Shaw’s in Newburyport, retiring in 1997 after 30 years of employment.  While working at Shaw’s, she made many dear friends that were always so special to her. Mary had a beautiful smile that could light up any room. With an infectious laugh and quick wit about her, her sense of humor will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her. She was happiest spending time with her family, and always loved her Wednesday nights out with the girls. She loved to garden and sew, was a wonderful cook, and she never met a hot fudge sundae she didn’t like. A patient teacher, Mary passed her best traits and talents on to her children and grandchildren. Truly the best Wife, Mom, and the cutest Silly Nana anyone could ask for.

Mary is survived by her daughters Jean Kelleher of Newburyport, and Patricia Kelleher of Colorado, her sons Kenneth Kelleher of Newburyport, and Stephen Kelleher & his wife Gail of Utah; her grandchildren Mandy(Kelleher)Grelle & her husband Michael of Salisbury, Stephen Kelleher Jr.& his wife Jami of Utah, Eric Kelleher & his wife Stefanie of Utah, Ryan Kelleher & his wife Allison of Texas, James Elswick & his husband Clayton of California, Kenneth Kelleher Jr. of Newburyport, predeceased by baby Christina Kelleher;  7 Great-Grandchildren, and

many nieces and nephews. She will be missed so much by all of her family and friends.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions services and burial will be private. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Kelleher’s family with her funeral arrangements.
