Mark A. Wahlgren, 62, died unexpectedly at his home in Merrimac on Monday January 20, 2020.

He was born in Nutley, NJ on August 7, 1957 to the late Kermit and Mabel (Wilson) Wahlgren. Following his graduation from Nutley High School Mark continued his education at William Paterson University graduating in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration.

While in College Mark started his life long career in the Brewery Industry as a beer truck driver. He continued his career with Anheuser-Busch in 1981 as a Sales Representative at the Newark, New Jersey Wholesale Operation followed by various promotions. In 1993 he was promoted and transferred to the Boston Wholesale Operation, where he held various roles prior to becoming President & General Manager from 1999 to 2007. Rounding out his career at Anheuser-Busch Mark was named Division Executive & an Officer of Anheuser-Busch at corporate headquarters in St. Louis in 2007. He then has held multiple roles at multiple organizations such as McLaughlin & Moran, Big Night Entertainment, and numerous consulting roles. Most recently he was the President of Sea Dog Brewing Companies since April 2016, and General Manager of Shipyard Brewing since April 2017.

Mark enjoyed both fresh water and salt water fishing, and boating. He also enjoyed scuba diving: he dove from the Cayman Islands for sport to Maine for lobsters and every place in between. Although nothing gave him more pleasure than spending time with his family and friends.

Mark is survived by his wife Linda (Babler) Wahlgren of Merrimac; children, Matthew Wahlgren and his partner Rainah Goguen of Miami, and Samantha Mae Wahlgren of Merrimac; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
