Marilyn Warren Obituary

Marilyn Warren, of Plum Island, Newbury, MA died of health complications at the age of 70. Fondly know as Mae, she was born on the 4th of July with her twin sister Carolyn "Cae" Leahy. In her twenties, Mae married Dominic Perroni, who passed at an early age. She later married Robert Warren and had a daughter, Brittany. Not a day would go by without Mae speaking about her.  Brittany was the love of Mae’s life and her precious grandchildren Dylan, Trex and Shayla were her pride and joy. Mae relished the weeks that Brittany, her husband Tony and the grandchildren would visit from New Zealand.  Each visit ended with Mae’s longing for them to return to Plum Island. Her love for Brittany expanded to her many nieces and nephews, most notably Brian, Erica and Michael Leahy, growing up within steps of Mae’s front door.

Mae lived an adventurous and heroic life. With bags packed and passport in hand, she traveled the world, climbing mountains in Sri Lanka and Nepal, escaping tribal turmoil in the jungles of New Guinea, falling in love with the wine country of Italy, exploring the Philippines, India and more. Her personality, generosity, beautiful red hair, blue eyes, and radiant smile attracted people everywhere she went.  Mae was a gifted linguist with a talent for learning the local accent and language in a days’ time.  Mae was an entrepreneur.  She owned a shoe store at Hampton Beach, sold hotdogs at Fenway Park, opened a successful gift shop in Faneuil Hall, and a gourmet food shop in Newburyport with her sister, Cae. Mae was creative and artistic. Her talents could be seen in her gardening, her driftwood sculptures, and her decorating style. She could turn a simple space into something extraordinary.

Mae is predeceased by her first husband Dominic Perroni of Derry, NH, and parents Stanley and Jeanne Levandowski of Barefoot Bay, FL. She leaves her daughter Brittany (Warren) Anderson, husband Tony, and grandchildren, Dylan, Treks, Shayla and Ysabelle of Auckland, New Zealand. She leaves her sister Carolyn Leahy and husband Richard of Newbury, MA, twin brothers Michael Levandowski of Littleton, NH, Stanley Levandowski and wife Nancy of Land O Lakes, FL, Patricia McGuiness and her husband James, of Winter Park, FL, Stephen Levandowski of Pompano, FL, Joel Levandowski and his wife Cynthia of York, ME, Kathleen McKechnie and her husband Todd of Wolfeboro, NH., Maria Levandowski Moore and her husband Scott of Barefoot Bay, FL and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2022. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Warren’s family with her arrangements.
