Margaret Mary “Peg” Horgan, passed away peacefully at her home on March 31, 2022. She was born in Newburyport in 1926 to the late Francis J. and Margaret Mary (Murphy) Burke.
Peg was a graduate of Newburyport High School class of 1944. She attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and fulfilled her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. Peg married Robert E. She lovingly accomplished that feat. While very busy at home, she still managed to continue her Nursing career at the Hale Hospital in Haverhill.
Peg was a very good sport who loved a travel adventure. She enjoyed many trips to Ireland with Jean and Mike Doyle, as well as England, Wales, and Italy. Throughout the years Peg traveled to San Francisco many times to visit her children, Michael, Trish and Kevin who all lived there.
Peg was a devoted Mom whose wisdom was evident throughout her life. She was a devout Catholic and had a deep devotion to the Saints. She would always say that her faith is what got her through life.
Her family extends their utmost gratitude to Marie Auguste who took care of Peg with compassion and respect during the past year.
Peg was blessed with 11 grandchildren who she loved very much. There were many happy celebrations through the years. Peg was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.
Peg leaves 7 children, Maureen Hardin, Michael Horgan and Jacy, Jean and Mike Doyle, Margaret and Tucker Quinn, Paul and Donna Horgan, Trish and John O’Rourke, and John and Michele Horgan.
