Margaret M. (Byrne) Axten

AMESBURY, MA - Margaret Mary (Byrne) Axten passed away on October 17, 2022.  

Margaret was born on January 18, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was raised by her loving parents Jeanne and Mark. There was never a dull moment in Margaret's childhood with her 6 siblings, whether she was playing sports, meeting with friends, or just hanging out with her sisters and brother. Margaret met Mike Axten, the two were married, and lovingly raised two sons Brian and Danny who meant the world to her.  

Margaret always found great pleasure in caring for others, including her two beloved pups Gus and Wally. This pleasure found it's way into her work at the Amesbury Elementary School, where she worked in the cafeteria and kitchen, supervising the children throughout the years and later helping to prepare meals. She loved spending time with friends and family, whether in person or just talking on the phone, gardening and just being outdoors, and would never miss a trip to the mall or the outlets.

Margaret is survived by her two sons, as well as her siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to Margaret’s Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Thursday October 27, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport. Burial will be private at a later date. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Axten’s family with her arrangements.
