Lucille Lois Leach Rowe passed away on February 25, 2023 at her daughter Cheryl’s home in Newburyport Mass. Lucille was born in Penobscot, Maine on March 14, 1928 to Kenneth I. Leach and Roxanna (Dyer) Leach. Lucille moved to Gloucester, Massachusetts in 1945 after her marriage to Edward “Lana” Rowe. From the moment she arrived she considered Gloucester her home and often said she never tired of the magnificent Atlantic Ocean or the Stacy Boulevard she so loved.
Lucille was survived by her six children; Edward L. Rowe Jr., and wife Glenys, Cheryl R. (Rowe) Ward and her husband Kenneth, Rosemary J. (Rowe) Lusk and her husband Phil, Jacqueline M. (Rowe) Hickey and her husband Robert, Kenneth S. Rowe and wife Tamara, Jeffrey S.Rowe and wife Kathleen. Lucille leaves 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grand-children and several great-great grand-children.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward L. Rowe, grand-daughter SusannaYork, grand-son Jason Rowe and great grandson Joshua Amaral.
There will be no memorial services at this time but a celebration of Lucille’s life at a later date. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Rowe’s family with her arrangements.
