Linda Morris Obituary

Linda D. Morris, 74 of Newbury, formerly of Salisbury and Newburyport passed away August 18, 2021 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA.

She was born in Derby, ME the youngest child of the late Earl Leicester and Lucy (Farnham) Morris. Linda and her family moved from Vanceboro, ME to Newburyport when she was 6 years old. She earned her GED from Newburyport High School and went on to receive her Teacher’s Certificate for early childhood daycare. Her career spanned several secretary positions before she entered into the position she loved the most, being an infant and toddler teacher until her retirement.

Linda was a kind, soft-spoken person with a great compassion to help others. She was an artist and was proud of her paintings displayed at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.

She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending winter months in Florida and being one of the “posse” girls at the Elks in Newburyport on Saturday nights. She always enjoyed family gatherings and get togethers. Linda especially loved spending time with her nephew Jim Bradshaw, his wife Danielle, and their sons Jimmy and Danny. She was loved by all members of the Blais family who considered her as family.

She is survived by and will be sorely missed by her best lifelong friend Marie Blais of Newbury; sisters, Helen (Morris) Larabee of Bangor, ME, Mary (Morris) Tibbs and her husband William of Windsor, NC, and Elizabeth (Morris) McPhee and her husband William of York, ME; and nephew James Bradshaw and his wife Danielle of Newbury.
