Lillian Ethel (Rogers) Brown, 88, of Newburyport, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024. Born on November 6, 1936, in Newburyport, MA, Lillian was the beloved daughter of Byron and Theodora Rogers. She was one of four children. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lillian's life was characterized by her selfless love and dedication to those around her. She was a proud mother and caretaker to many, embracing the role of a second mother to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and bonus grandchildren. When tragedy struck her family with the passing of her eldest son, Robert Jr., Lillian opened her heart even further, stepping into the role of mother to her granddaughter Angela.
Lillian's love for adventure and travel was a central part of her life. She was an active member of the Moose organization, where she had the opportunity to travel the United States and Europe, visiting many remarkable places. Among her favorite memories were her travels to Ireland, which she enjoyed alongside her sister Alice, with whom she shared an inseparable bond. Their close relationship was a defining aspect of her life, and the love they shared brought her immeasurable joy.
Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Byron and Theodora Rogers; her siblings, Barbara Crombie, Byron Rogers, and Alice Hardy; her husband, Robert Brown Sr.; and her sons, Robert Brown Jr. and Michael Brown. She is survived by her children: Bruce Brown and his wife Millie, Steven Brown and his wife Anne, William Brown, Robert Brown, and Angela Brown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca, Jonathan, Bruce, Samantha, Crystal, Bobby, Rayleen, Stephen, Molly, and her bonus grandchildren, Kyle, Madi, and Emma Chute, as well as fourteen cherished great-grandchildren. Lillian's unwavering love and deep commitment to her family will be forever remembered. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, strength, and nurturing spirit.
