Lillian A. Bartels, 97, died Sunday evening December 27, 2020 at Vero Health and Rehab of Amesbury. She was born in Amesbury on August 21, 1923 to the late Wilfred and Yvonne (Briand) Brousseau. She was raised in Amesbury and attended Amesbury Schools.
Lillian was employed at Henchel Corporation during WWII from 1941 to 1945, followed by her employment at Towle Silversmiths as an Accountant from 1945 until her retirement in 1985.
She enjoyed boating, camping, reading and bowling. She was a former member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla and Immaculate Conception Church.
Family would like to thank the staff at Vero Health and Rehab in Amesbury for the exceptional care provided for Lillian during her 8 year stay.
Lillian is survived by her step-son William Berry; sister, Jeanette Perreault; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband William E. Bartels, as well as her brothers, Wilfred and William, and sister Loretta Bronski.
Family and friends are invited to her graveside service at Belleville Cemetery in Newburyport on Thursday December 31, 2020 at 10:00 AM. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Bartel’s family with her arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to Immaculate Conception Church 42 Green St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
