Kim D. (Reilly) Dow

On May 28th, 2022 Kim D. (Reilly) Dow passed away after graciously and courageously battling cancer for 11 years. Throughout Kim’s life she loved, inspired, and taught countless others. She was a 1st grade teacher at the Bresnahan Elementary School, a dedicated wife, sister, mother, Mimi, and a role model to all in the local community.

In her career, Kim educated and made lasting memories for hundreds of children in the Newburyport area. She became many children’s favorite teacher and enjoyed mentoring in so many ways. Kim loved the teachers and staff at the Bresnahan where some of her best friends were found. She will be remembered for her joyful and compassionate impact on the community for the rest of their lives. 

In her spare time Kim enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, and taking walks around town and on Salisbury beach with her loving husband. One of her many hobbies and volunteer efforts included rescuing and fostering pets in need. She loved animals in every form, from riding horses in her youth, to raising a zoo of pets while also raising her kids, and later taking her sidekick Bruin through the local trails on evening walks. 

Kim cherished her children and valued every moment with them. Even as they grieve her loss, her family and those who love her will always strive to be as vibrant and nurturing as she so naturally was. 

Kim is survived by her husband John Dow of Newburyport, her three children Kyle and Justin Crisham of Newburyport, Alex Crisham of Haverhill, her grandson Ronan, her three step-children Shannon, Kendra, and Samantha Dow of Newburyport, her sisters Karen Reilly Brickett and Jennifer Reilly of New Hampshire, her brother Joseph Reilly of Huntington Beach, her step-mother Mary Charlene Reilly of Newburyport, and various nephews and nieces. 

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday June 1, 2022 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday June 2, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church. Please go directly to Church if attending. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Please send any donation to Bresnahan School Library, mailed to the OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT, 70 Low St Newburyport MA 01950. This is a cause that Kim was extremely passionate about and will best honor her memory.
