Kevin Donovan Mahoney, age 33, of Plum Island, Newbury, Massachusetts, passed away tragically early Saturday morning on July 31, 2021, at the North End Boat Club in Newburyport, Massachusetts.
Born August 4, 1987, in Malden, Massachusetts, he grew up on Plum Island and from day one he was a true Plum Island native. Kevin had an unwavering love of the ocean, spending every minute he could either fishing, boating, or surfing. He was an avid fisherman having won the NEBC Fishing Derby numerous times. Throughout the years. He was an all-around outstanding fisherman. When Kevin was fishing, the tuna never had a chance. In the winter he enjoyed snowboarding up North and out West.
Kevin was a 2006 graduate of Triton Regional High School and worked as a Union Carpenter with Local 339.
Kevin leaves behind his parents, Patrick & Jean (Donovan) Mahoney of Plum Island, Newbury; sister Kerri D. (Mahoney) Tolman & brother in law Michael Tolman; loving girlfriend, Natasha Hay of Newburyport; beloved puppy Patch; and grandfather, Robert E. Donovan, Sr. of Medford. Kevin is predeceased by his grandmother, Virginia M. (Carr) Donovan of Medford and grandparents, Francis and Evelyn Mahoney of Plum Island. He leaves behind many aunts and uncles, Robert Donovan, Jr. of Medford, James Donovan & Anna Donovan of Medford, Kathy Mahoney, of Georgetown, Daniel Mahoney, of Merrimac, Mark Mahoney of Sabastian, Florida, Cheryl Mahoney & Ric Melo of Newbury; cousins, Stephen Donovan & Sarah Palumbo of Medford; and Godson Russell Leahy of Plum Island.
Kevin leaves behind Many great friends who will forever miss his infectious laugh and kind soul and the beautiful impact he made on their lives.
Kevin Mahoney was one of a kind, a legend we will all miss dearly.

THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday August 7, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport. Friends are asked to go directly to church if attending his Mass. Burial will be at a later date.
