Kenneth Eaton, Jr. Obituary

Kenny Eaton, 76, passed away on the morning of Sunday, March 8, 2026 with his wife Karen by his side. He lived most of his life in Newburyport before moving to Salisbury 10 years ago. Kenny was well known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He enjoyed sports, especially those great 20 years the New England Patriots. Karen, who is a Steelers fan, has no comment on this.

If you asked Kenny what his greatest accomplishment was, it was being a Dad to Matt Eaton, born in 1983. He cherished his time as a Dad and followed Matt’s various sports through high school. Kenny and Matt enjoyed many years attending the Frozen Four with Dan Allaire and Bryan Marshall, and more recently Dan Blair joined the crew. They shared many laughs and great memories as well as an overtime game most years. Kenny and his family enjoyed 25+ years camping at Papoose Pond, which was the high point of the summer. While camping they met the Allaire family who remained lifelong friends.

Kenny spent a lot of time in Kennebunk, Maine where his sister-in-law Marcia Jackson and her husband Bob, who passed away in 2016, live. Their children and grandchildren: Bobby Jackson and his daughter Piper (7), Mark Jackson, Kristen Cates, her husband Merlin Cates and their sons Camden (10) and Bretton (7) brought great joy to his life. Football, basketball, soccer, and baseball events were always fun to watch, and seeing each child grow brought Kenny great pride. The family pre-Christmas party was always a special tradition each year, with the high point being the cookie decorating. Of course, Uncle Kenny’s lollipops and treats brought huge smiles that day as well.

Kenny and Karen picked up their most recent four-legged companion, Mac, on April 2, 2024. Mac brought unconditional love to the last two years of Kenny’s life, and he took great pleasure in spending his days with his furry friend. Rides to the beach and mornings at the dog park were always a great time.

Kenny and his wife were devastated when their son, Matt, passed away in 2016 but supported each other during this impossible time. The support of family, friends and particularly Matt’s friends was so appreciated. Kenny’s sister, Pauline Morrill, passed away in 2004. His parents, Kenneth and May, also predeceased him.

Per Kenny’s request, there will be no services, and burial will be private. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Eaton’s family with his arrangements.

Voluntary donations can be sent to the Matt Eaton Memorial Golf Tournament to support cancer research at Dana Farber. Please note your donation is a memorial donation for Kenny Eaton: Matt Eaton Memorial Golf Tournament 119 Main Street Salisbury, MA 01952.
