Kathryn Sullivan Eaton passed away unexpectedly in her home in Newburyport, Massachusetts this past weekend. Kathy was a one-of-a-kind human being, who radiated love and warmth everywhere she went. Kathy grew up on the coast of Massachusetts, enjoying the New England beaches with her siblings, Peggy and Tommy. She was deeply loved by her mother, Connie, father, Baird, and step-father, Gordon. Growing up, Kathy had a strong love for nature, whether she was walking the dog through March’s Hill, or swimming up at Great Neck. She loved feeling the fresh air on her face. Kathy was an extremely gifted, intelligent woman, pursuing her studies at Salem State University and Leslie University. She graduated with a master’s in education and had a passion for teaching those in need. After retiring from her education career, Kathy took her love for helping others to a new endeavor; helping troubled youth and those struggling with addiction, further emulating her true compassion. Aside from her many careers, Kathy wore numerous hats in her large family, always welcoming her loved ones in with open arms. Not only was she an amazing mother to her children, she was a mom to so many more. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Eliza, her sons Jesse and Jason, her grandchildren, Lidya, Levi, Ayvah, Noah, and Alissa, her sister, Peggy, her brother, Tommy, her nieces Johana and Tamera, her nephews, Jesse, John, Josh, Joe, and Dan, and many, many great nieces and nephews, along with so many more whom she cared for deeply and whose hearts she has touched. Kathy has now joined her mother, Connie, whom she missed dearly, and Kathy’s first daughter, Irene, is now in the loving arms of her mommy, enjoying her warm embrace. Kathy will always be with us in our hearts.
Arrangements have been made for a celebration of life on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the People’s United Methodist Church at 64 Purchase Street Newburyport, Massachusetts from 1-3pm. We encourage family, friends, and loved ones of Kathy to join us to share memories and honor her life.
