Kathleen Ann (Condon) Donahue

Kathleen Ann Donahue, 79, of Newburyport MA passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born on November 10th, 1944 in Danvers, MA to the late James Condon and Anna Adele Condon (Hemstead).

Kathy attended Beverly High School (graduating class of 1961) and later acquired her LPN degree in Florida. When Kathy returned to MA she began her lifelong career as a gentle, compassionate caregiver and advocate to the residents of Hogan Regional Center in Hawthorne MA. She remained there for over 20 years until her retirement.

Her zest for life brought her to many places - she often frequented Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and California. But above all, her happiest moments were spent at Walt Disney World. She and her family visited annually for more than thirty years.

Her warmth and kindness brought light and love to all who knew her. She always welcomed everyone into her home with a smile, a hug, coffee, or a ‘quick’ game of cards. She was an avid player who loved poker, rummy, and cribbage. Kathy also enjoyed sewing, cooking, keeping up with The Young and the Restless, and luncheons with her lifelong friends. 

She took every chance to cheer on her grandchildren at sports games, recitals, and any celebratory milestones. Being present and showing support for them always brought her so much joy. 

More than anything, Kathy loved being with her family. She jumped at every opportunity to gather everyone all together, often hosting holiday parties and taking great pride in decorating her dinner table. Some of her most cherished memories were spent listening to her relatives conversing and ending the evening by the fireplace with her husband.

Kathy was so dearly loved and cherished by all. She was always quick to lend an ear and gave great advice when needed.   Her generosity had no limits and she was known for being there for anyone who needed her. Her memory will never be forgotten and she will remain in our hearts forever. 

She is survived by her loving husband Michael, as well as her children Robert Donahue,  Jennifer Quintal, and Rachel Quintal.  She is also survived by her Grandchildren Stephanie Donahue, Rachel Corelle, Rebecca Donahue, Rachael Donahue, Benjamin Quintal, Ashley Quintal, and Julia Quintal.  Kathy leaves behind her closest friends Sandra Bozek and Natalie Anderson, as well as many cousins residing in California and Salem MA. 

Family and Friends May call on Tuesday July 9, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Service will be held at Central Congregational Church in Newburyport on Wednesday July 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM, burial will be private at a later date.
