Judith Louise (Berbert) Steeves

Judith Louise (Berbert) Steeves passed away on Saturday March 19, 2022.

Judi was born in Lawrence, MA on March 18, 1938. She was the daughter of Frederick and Violet Berbert and sister to Frank Berbert. Judi is survived by her husband, Norman Steeves, her children William & Merri-Lee (Lesynski) Steeves, John & Charlene (Blazak) Steeves, Michael & Laura (Steeves) Ormsby, as well as her grandchildren, Brooke & Will Elwell, Shelby & George Bixby, Emma Steeves, Alex Ormsby, Nick Ormsby and Cameron Ormsby and great-grandchildren Vivian & William Elwell.

Judi attended University of Massachusetts Amherst. In her freshman year, she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and was crowned the Greek Ball Queen. Judi was also a precisionette  for the university marching band. She graduated in 1960.

Judi & Norm were married in 1961 and moved to Burlington, MA where they raised their three children, Bill, John and Laura. Judi worked in the Burlington School System as a Library Instructional Assistant at Burlington High School. Judi moved from Burlington to RiverCourt Residences in Groton, MA in April 2019 where she thrived in the loving community and made some great new friends. 

Judi was a kind and caring person, second mom/grammy to many, friend to all. Judi wore her smile without reserve and brought joy to those around her. She was lovely and she was loved.

At Judi’s request there will be no service. Plans are underway for a celebration of Judi’s life in the May/June timeframe.
