Joseph Valery Cote

Joseph Valery Cote, 91, passed away peacefully at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport, on Thursday July 14, 2022. Joe was born in Amesbury, MA on February 14, 1931 to the late Sylvio and Evelyn F. (Beauparlaut) Cote. He was raised in Amesbury and was a graduate of Amesbury High School. 

Following his graduation Joe was employed as a mechanic at Owens Illinois for many years until his retirement. He was very supportive of the former St. Louis De Gonzague Parish in Newburyport, as well as Star of the Sea Parish in Salisbury. He was a Eucharistic Minister at Star of the Sea and volunteered faithfully to the Soup Kitchen at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport.

In addition to his parents Joe was predeceased by his sister Monique Cote.

Friends are invited to Joe’s calling hours on Friday July 22, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. His Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 6:00 PM in the Funeral Home. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. Burial will be private at a later date. There will also be a Mass in Joe’s name to be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Star of the Sea Beach Chapel, 140 North End Blvd., Salisbury, MA  01951.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s name to Star of the Sea Church, 11 Sparhawk Street, Amesbury, MA  01913.
