John Paul Marano, Jr. Obituary

John Paul Marano Jr. of Essex, Connecticut died peacefully May 6, 2024 at High Pointe House, Haverhill, Massachusetts.  He was 82 years old.  John was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia to John Paul Marano and Mary Louise Fuscaldo.  After graduating from Notre Dame High School in Clarksburg, he attended the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, graduating in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.  Subsequently, John went to Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut and earned a doctorate in Chemical Engineering.

It was in Connecticut that John met the love of his life, Nancy Laine, who has preceded him in death (2011).  John is known for his intellect, entrepreneurship, kindness, generosity, love of cars, and love of Yankees baseball.

He is survived by daughters Lauren Anne Marano (Scott Wells), Kristin Marie Marano (Ryan Potts), much loved grandsons Griffin Thomas and Sebastien Barth Wells, bonus grand daughters Ellie and Annie Potts, brother Gary David Marano (Deborah Frederick Marano) many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He will be dearly missed.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on May 16, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church Newburyport, MA. Burial will be at a later date. The Twomey, LeBlanc , & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Marano’s family with his arrangements

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nancy Laine Marano Endowed Scholarship Fund at Southern Connecticut State University.
