John Taylor, III Obituary

John C. Taylor III, 64, of Amesbury, MA passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. 

John was born in Baton Rouge, LA on October 13, 1958 to John C. Taylor Jr. and Cynthia T. Taylor. He grew up in Newbury, MA and was a graduate of Triton High School. He continued his education at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where he graduated with a BS in Marine Engineering in 1981. He also earned a third assistance engineer license from the US Coast Guard. He retired from Kraft Heinz Company as a Boiler, Turbine and Diesel Operator in 2016 where he worked for over 20 years. His most recent position was as a power plant operator at the University of New Hampshire, where he oversaw the system maintenance required to produce electricity, heat, steam, and utilities for the university. In his free time, John enjoyed spending time at Woodsom Farm and Salisbury Beach with the family dog, Ruby. 

John is predeceased by his mother, Cynthia T. Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Josie M. Correia-Taylor of Amesbury, MA; his son, John C. Taylor IV of Newbury, MA; his father John C. Taylor Jr and stepmother Alice Taylor of Venice, FL; his brother Douglas A. Taylor, sister-in-law Cheryl Taylor, and nephew Kevin Taylor of Ashland, MA; his sister Christine T. Karmen of Cleveland, TN and niece Kaitlin Karmen of Ann Arbor, MI; his step-sister Deborah Michaelsen and her husband Lee Rogers of Waldoboro, ME; his step-sister Barbara Michaelsen of Wayland, MA; his step-sister Cheryl Michaelsen and her husband Mike LaPosta of Alfred, ME; his step- brother Gregg Michaelsen of Salem, MA; and his step-children Justin and Allie Martini of Darien, CT, Brittany and Matthew McAskill of Haverhill, MA, and Dylan Martini of Boston, MA; and sister-in-law Ann M. Nunery and her husband Ed Nunery of Cumberland Foreside, ME, and Debi and Rob Hill of Limington, ME. 

Family and friends may call on Thursday March 2, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Services and burial will be private.

Memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
